A wrap up of the year that’s been, and our plans for 2019

2018 has been a busy year for us setting up the ground work for expanding the Kick Start Café model. Along the way we have had a lot of fun, supported some great charities, and met so many wonderful and caring people.

With that in mind, here’s a wrap up of the year that’s been, and our plans for 2019.

Trailers

We reinvented Kick Start Café and launched our new trailer and partnership model to members of the Property Council of Australia.

The new trailers allow us to be more flexible on construction sites, whilst also giving us the ability to attend local community events on weekends when the sites are not operational.

Events

Kick Start Café has been a huge hit at events, with far too many to list here! We have been involved in everything from food festivals to school fairs, whilst also finding time to support many charity events.

In-Kind Support

Chef Shane has been spending time with PAYCE Foundation’s partner charity ‘St Merkorious’ offering ongoing support and supervision of their volunteers. The charity provides more than 3800 nutritious meals a week to the needy.

‘’Our program opens the way for people to realise that they are not forgotten, and that someone cares enough to visit them, talk to them and support them in their hour of need.’’

What’s coming in the year ahead?

Location, Location, Location

KICK01 (our first trailer) will be set up on the corner of Victoria and Wharf roads in Melrose Park at the stage 1 construction site from early 2019. The Melrose Park development project will run for a number of years, and we look forward to establishing a long term relationship with the Melrose Park community.

KICK02 (our second trailer) is currently being built and we expect to roll this out on a construction partner’s site in the early stages of 2019. Details of this location will be announced closer to opening.

In addition to the trailers, we are working on a number of other exciting projects to increase our services, products, and training opportunities. We hope to be able to announce more details in the New Year, so be sure to keep an eye out on Facebook and Instagram.

On behalf of the Kick Start Café team, we would like to thank you for your support in 2018, and wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
